Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Chiasson
71, Halifax, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 23, 2017 in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII, with her sons and husband by her side.
Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Elizabeth (O’Hearn) Migel. Mary always had lots of stories of her childhood in Halifax, but was eager to leave QEH and begin her path in life. In 1963 she began employment with Simpsons on the candy counter, where she met her future husband, Albert, who was an Electrician at Sears. She had a huge fondness for horoscope astrology, flowers and music, which was playing in the house all the time, tuned to 105.9. Mary was an avid crib player at St. Michael’s Church Hall and with Albert and friends. She was thoughtful and generous, stray cats would never go hungry. She will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Mary will lovingly be remembered by her husband of almost 50 years, Albert; sons, Christopher (Tammy), Truro, and Douglas (Lisa), Saint John, NB; grandchildren, Alexander, Maddison, Kaileigh, Carter, Dylan and Drake; brother, Peter (Louise), Halifax. Aunt Lizzie will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her twin sisters, Donna and Diane.
Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, where visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 2 from 2-4 PM. In keeping with Mary’s wishes, there will be no service. Flowers are welcomed.
