Obituary of Diane Louise McNamara
Diane Louise McNamara
1944-2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our loving Mother, Wife, and Nana, Diane McNamara on December 22, 2024, at the QEII VG Hospital, Halifax surrounded by loving family.
Born in Halifax, on November 2, 1944, Diane was the daughter of the late Lillian and Harold Yeadon. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Carl McNamara; son, Chris McNamara; daughter, Shelley McNamara. Also, the light of her life, granddaughter, Madison Irvine.
Remembering their sister, Alan Yeadon (Helen), Brenda Fraser (Bob); ex-brother-in-law, Philip Slaunwhite. Many special brothers and sisters-in-law and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews are deeply missing her.
Diane resided in Cowie Hill for the last 43 years and babysat hundreds of children for decades. She loved "her kids" so much as they were all very special to her.
She was involved with the Halifax Sparklettes baton twirling team for over 50 years. Travelled with her daughter and granddaughter all over the USA and Canada for baton trips. She was their number one fan and greatest supporter.
Mom was the most selfless, loving, and generous person to everyone who came into her life. She would want to be remembered with joy, not sadness. Diane is now with God and will be a very special angel watching over us.
Arrangements and cremation have been entrusted to J. Albert Walker Funeral Home Halifax. In keeping with Diane’s wishes there will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held at Sheffield Baptist Church - 80 Lincoln Cross, Clayton Park, Halifax on Saturday, January 4, 2024, at 1 pm.
