Dear Cathy,
What a beautiful tribute to Dave yesterday. I hope it brought some comfort to you to be with family and friends as we celebrated the life a a great guy.
I worked with Dave at MLAC, both in Retail Systems Department, and on the Group Pension projects, and have so many great memories; the 'Gold' PRISM hard drive award, testing code in production because we had to go live, the joy of Dave becoming a father, just to name a few. We also enjoyed many social events outside the office, and many of those included you as well.
I am attaching a picture of one of the many Pension gatherings hosted by Susan Harvey, this one in 2018, where we all enjoyed time together sharing stories of our Maritime Life days, and catching up on our lives. And as Dave shared updates on Robert's achievements, his pride in his son was so evident! He loved being a father and you two raised a fine young man.
May the love and support of your family and friends bring some comfort in the sad days ahead.
Take Care and God Bless you Cathy, Robert, and all the family,
Michelle

My best friend. My hero. My mentor. My number one. My Dad.
The greatest honour of my life was and is being my Dad’s son. I truly could not have asked for a better Dad. I am sad that he is physically gone, but he remains as close as ever to me in spirit. I can still feel his incredible love and support and will continue to pass on his love and amazing ability to smile through anything. Every time I smile, it is him smiling too. Every time I laugh, it is him laughing too. Everywhere I travel, he will be right alongside me.
Together we will see the world. I will continue to succeed. I will continue to make him proud. I am him, and he is me. Father and son forever.
I love you so much Dad.

I was very sorry to hear about David's passing. David and I met and became friends in Grade 9 when my family moved to a house across the street from his house. We were in Grade 9 together and shared some activities at the Y. David was my swim instructor, and we were both Councillors-in-training one summer at the Y's Big Cove Camp in Pictou County. We mostly lost touch after high school, but I do recall an occasional beer at the old Lion's Head Tavern. It's probably been about 15 years since I last bumped into him and we had a chat. It was nice to see the great photos of him posted here. My sincere condolences to his wife Cathy and son Robert, and other loved ones. David was a great guy. John Sparling

So sorry to hear about David's passing. I first met David when attending QEH high school. We went on to attend Dalhousie together, graduating in 1975. We remained in contact ever since. I fondly remember so many Tim Hortons conversations over the years and bantering over anything we could think about. He was always so proud of Robert and always had a story to tell of Roberts accomplishments. Gloria and I also recall meeting up with you and your family in Florida and spending a day at Epcot. Such fond memories.
We are in Florida , so unfortunately cannot be at the funeral service , but will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers during these difficult times.

Cathy and Robert, Sue and I were so sorry to hear about David. I remember working with Dave at MLAC, we spent many a night fixing production problems and sorting everything out over a beer of two Friday afternoon as we waited for you and Sue to pick us up.
