Obituary of Gerald S. Lynch

77 of Fergusons Cove, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2016 in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Halifax, Gerald was the son of the late Fred and Florence Lynch. Gerald worked for the Department of Highway for 35 years. He was a member of the Purcells Cove Social Club for many years where he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He loved to play cards, especially crib and he loved to win even when he was playing against his grandchildren. There was nothing that meant more to Gerald than his grandchildren which he loved to torment. Everyone who met Gerald loved him. He will be missed dearly but the memories we have with him will stay in our hearts forever. He is survived by his wife, Janet; sons, Jerry (Heather), Mark (Vicki) and Chris (Jessica); brothers, Jimmy (Evelyn), Paul, Wayne, Tommy and Freddy; sisters, Theresa, Irene (Jack), Eileen and Linda; grandchildren, Justin, Cassie, Jeremy, Aiden, Jaci, Dawson and Adison. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax. In keeping with the family’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, December 2 at 11AM from the funeral home chapel. A reception will follow at 12 noon at the Purcells Cove Social Club, 505 Purcells Cove Road.
