Obituary of Peter Albert McDonald

MCDONALD, Peter Albert- 58 of Spryfield, it is with profound sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Peter Albert McDonald on June 23, 2023.  Born in Corner Brook, NF, he was a son of Phoebe (Bishop) McDonald and the late Joseph McDonald.

Peter loved the outdoors; especially camping, canoeing, and fishing with family and friends, and was very active with the Halifax ­­­­­Table Tennis community.  He dedicated the last 17 years of his career to his work family at ­Vogue Optical.  

Peter was a loving and caring soul who was always the first to lend a helping hand where needed and lit up a room with his joyful personality.  

Peter adored his family, always boasting his greatest accomplishment was his beautiful daughter.  He will be forever missed by his loving wife of 33 years Monahanna (Spence) McDonald; precious daughter, Vivian McDonald; brother, Joseph (Anne) McDonald; sisters, Sophia (George) Mountain, “favorite sister”, Susan (Shawn) West, Annette McDonald, and Mary McDonald; countless nieces, nephews, and extended family; along with his international family.

Peter will be forever missed and loved by all.

Arrangements and cremation have been entrusted to J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax.  In keeping with Peter’s wishes there will be a Celebration of Life held at the funeral on Friday, June 30, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. All are welcome to join and celebrate the loving and joyful soul that Peter was and share memories with all who loved him.
