My condolences to Wayne and the Keirstead family. Danny was an amazing person. It was an absolute pleasure to have known him and my heart is broken with his passing. I know that he is right now sitting under a large tree in heaven with a glass of wine in his hand and that amazing smile from ear to ear.

Wayne and family, I was so sad to learn of Danny’s passing. He really was one of the great ones. Danny brought the ‘love’ to the Amex team. In subsequent years and roles, I often referenced him and how important it was to have a ‘Danny’ on your team. I also always think of him when I see gumdrops. His mama, Vera, made the most delicious gumdrop cake and occasionally he could be convinced to share some with us. I can honestly say during my 24 years at Amex, he was one of my favourite colleagues. Sharing a picture of our last get together — such a special human.

Wayne and family I am so sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of working with Danny at AMEX and for many years, our desks were next to each other. Every morning without fail, he greeted me with a smile and I can still hear his sweet, soft voice. Danny truly was one of the good ones. May he fly with the Angels and tend Heavens gardens.

Uncle Danny was an incredibly kind, genuine, hilarious, selfless man who brought unwavering joy to all those who met him. He made everyone around him happier simply with his presence. Danny was a constant guiding light, a beacon of unconditional love and support. I will hold the wonderful memories I have with him close to my heart, forever.

To Wayne and the Kierstead Family; you know when you meet a truly genuine, kind, loving human being; that was our experience with our wonderful brother in law Danny. From the first moment we met, we forged a love and friendship that has never waivered. Danny brought so much joy and love to all who knew him and enriched all of our lives immensely.
Wayne has lost the love of his life but will carry their beautiful love and memories with him forever, as we all will. Brad and I are blessed to have had our wonderful friendship for the past 20 years and consider it an honour and privilege to have gotten to walk this very difficult journey with you both for the past 14 months, thank you for that. We love you Danny, you are everywhere around us and will never be forgotten.

A gentle soul taken from us far to soon. I have never met a more compassionate, loving, caring ,gentle man in my life. Many many memories growing up across the Canaan Road from Danny and his family. We drifted apart for a few years when we both moved on from our childhood and teenage years only to reconnect later. I am so glad that we did. Didn't get to see one another often but we had many great phone chats getting caught up and sharing news from Canaan Road. We shared many cups of coffee, Vera's delicious donuts, cigs and the sometimes a glass of wine around the kitchen table of Dan's home. I can only imagine the reunion that Dan is enjoying with his Mom right now. They are soul mates.
Thoughts and prayers are with the family. Hugs to Wayne and Shawna.
