Obituary of Marjorie Lou Steeves

Age 89, Truro. It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Marjorie Lou, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She passed peacefully at Cedarstone Enhanced Care on March 5, 2019. Born in Isaac’s Harbour, she was the daughter of the late George E. and Muriel E (Warner) Murphy.

She attended school in Clarke’s Harbour and graduated from Yarmouth Academy, going on to enter the Halifax Infirmary School of Nursing, graduating with her R.N. During her career she worked in the Halifax Infirmary, Yarmouth General, Soldiers Memorial Hospital and then returning to the Halifax Infirmary where she remained until retirement. She is survived by daughters, Heather (Thomas) Brennan, Wendy Millett; grandsons, Ritchie (Sherri) Murray, Duncan Murray, Matthew Brennan; granddaughters, Ashley (Ryan) Beazley, Stephanie (Jeremy) Williams; Great grandchildren, Emerson and Elliott Murray, Gabrielle and Max Beazley and Kaija Brennan. She was predeceased by her husband, Robin Douglas Steeves and son-in-law Robert Millett.

Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. Service and interment to take place at a later date. Donations in memory of may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of choice.
