Obituary of Vincent Tilbury

TILBURY, Vincent Aloysius — 77, Ketch Harbour, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 5, 2010, at home. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Daniel and Myrtle (Gallagher) Tilbury. Vincent worked at the Spryfield Skating Rink for many years, until his retirement. He enjoyed old cars and new. He was a long-time member of St. Peters Roman Catholic Church. He is survived by sisters, Muriel Tilbury, Ketch Harbour and Catherine Sadler, Portuguese Cove. Arrangements are under the care and direction of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Rd., Spryfield (477-5601), where visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 9, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, February 10, at 10 a.m. in St. Peters Roman Catholic Church, Ketch Harbour. Interment in Mount Calvary Cemetery to be held at a later date. Donations in Vincent's memory may be made to the St. Peters Church Memorial Fund.
