Obituary of Robert McElroy

McELROY, Robert John "Bob" — 77, Halifax, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2010, in the QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Vulcan, Alta., he was a son of the late Robert Ducan and Mary Ellen (Sanders) McElroy. Robert served in the Korean War and UN Peacekeeping in Cypres, and was a 25 year Veteran. Robert is survived by his wife, Helena (Lubke), Halifax; daughters, Petra (Ronald), Halifax; Jutta, Calgary, Alta.; grandsons, Shawn (Shalini), Dean (Jen); great-grandchildren, Patrick, Caite, Dylen and Parker; brother, Patrick (Terri), British Columbia; sister, Marylin, British Columbia; niece, Trish and nephew, Pat. Cremation has taken place under the care of J.A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Rd., Halifax (477-5601). By request there will be no visitation or service.
