Obituary of Allan Lynch
LYNCH, Allan Christopher - 80, Halifax, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 25, 2009 in the Veterans Memorial. Born in Chester, he was the son of the late Percy and Marjorie (Zinck) Lynch. Allan joined the Merchant Navy in 1943, sailing on British and American freighters. After his time in the Merchant Navy he went to work for the Halifax Regional Vocational High School in 1955 and spent 35 1/2 years there until his retirement. Allan was proud to have been a union organizer of government employees. He will be lovingly remembered and never forgotten by his wife Kathleen (Ryan) Lynch; daughters, Dorothy Lynch; Chrissy (Robert Britton) Lynch, all of Halifax; step-daughters, Verna Harrie, Dartmouth; Tina (Guy) LeDrew, British Columbia; Mona (David) Kaulback, Lower Sackville; step-son, Paul Harrie, Terence Bay; step-granddaughter, Krystal; sister, Dolly (Lloyd) Clarke, Alberta; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Anne Maude (Blackburn); sisters, Katherine and Margaret. Arrangements are under the direction of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield (477-5601), where visitation will be held from 7-9 PM on Tuesday, December 29. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 30 at 11 AM from the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in Allan's memory may be made to the Alzhiemer's Society.
