Obituary of John Barnes

BARNES John Peter: 46- Halifax. It is with great sadness that we announce that John passed away peacefully with his mother and brother by his side on December 5, 2009, in the QEII Health Sciences Center, V.G. Site Palliative Care. Born in Halifax , he was the loving son of Betty (Tanner) and the late Albert Barnes. John worked at Halterm as a Longshoreman and always took pride in being a lasher. Besides his mother, he is survived by his brother, Thomas (Victoria), and nephew, Colin of Stillwater Lake . John was a well liked caring person who enjoyed camping in Enfield and playing horseshoes. Cremation has taken place under the care of JA Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 herring Cove Road, Halifax (477.5601). There will be no visitation by request of the family. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 2 PM from Emmanuel Anglican Church, Spryfield, with Rev. Diana Brett-Frye officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall.
