Obituary of Paul Sweeney
Sweeney, Paul Earl “Sweener”: 57, Spryfield, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 4, 2009. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Arthur and Eileen (Keefe) Sweeney. Sweener dedicated his career to Armdale Taxi, for who he had driven cab for many, many years. He was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Spryfield Branch #152. He was a loving spouse and father, who was a kind-hearted and considerate person to others, always putting others needs ahead of his own. Paul will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his spouse of 36 years, Beverley “Bev” King, his treasured children, Lora and Michael, his sister, Cathy Isenor (Gary), St. Catharine’s, ON, as well as a large extended family including many nieces and nephews, and many friends and fellow cab drivers. He was predeceased by Ted and Ruth Soper, who cared for him deeply, and his father-in-law, Gerald King.
Cremation has taken place under the care of JA Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, NS (477.5601). A memorial service will be held in memory of Paul on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 10 AM from St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Herring Cove Road, Spryfield, NS.
