COMEAU, Richard Albert
79, Noel, passed away September 25, 2009, in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Cape St. Mary's, Digby Co., he was a son of the late Johnny and Estelle (Maillet). Richard was a former member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, a long-time resident of Kline Heights, devoted family man who enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed his dog, Maggie, hunting, fishing, playing cards and farming. He had been a Longshoreman for over 30 years with the International Longshoreman's Association. He is survived by daughters, Marilyn Comeau, Kline Heights; Jeane Comeau (Laurens), British Columbia: sons, Richard (Angela), Whites Lake; Andrew (Cathy), Sterling Brook; Vernon (Fay), Kline Heights; Roger, Spryfield; Bradley (Penny), Noel; Danny (Annisa), Alberta; brothers, Antoine and Francis, both of Dartmouth; Leopold, Ontario; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by wife, Rita; daughter, Ruth Hale; sister, Alfreda and brothers, Emery, Alfred, Edward, George, and Ovilla. Visitation today 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Rd., Halifax, NS (902) 477-5601, with Funeral mass on Tuesday, September 29 at 10 a.m., in St. John The Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Purcell's Cove Road, Halifax, Father Allan MacDonald officiating.
