Obituary of Gordon DeYoung
DeYOUNG, Gordon "Crowbar" 65, Halifax, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2009, in the QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Halifax, life time resident of Kline Heights, he was the son of the late George and Maryanna (Yeadon) DeYoung. He enjoyed working on cars, spending time fishing, drinking Tim Horton's coffee and his pride and joy was his tow truck. He is survived by one sister Anne, Halifax; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his buddies, Jeffery Campbell, Lloyd Martin and their families also lifetime buddy Jeep Hallett. He was predeceased by sister, Margaret Marriott, Kay Aspenleider; baby sister, Eileen; brothers, Jim, Mike and Donald. Cremation has taken place under the care of J.Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at 11 a.m. from St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, Father Jamie Utronkie officiating, reception to follow at the Spryfield Legion.
