Obituary of Theresa Thorne

THORNE, Theresa Claire - 82, Halifax, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 26, 2009 in Melville Lodge. Born in Spryfield, she was a daughter of the late William and Winifred (Jarret) Yeadon. Theresa will be remembered as a devoted, caring and protective mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. She was the loving wife of Cyril for 62 years; mother of, Dianne (Travis) Smithers, Donna and Leonard; grandmother of, 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sister of, Dorothy, Ronald, William, Bernard (Nancy); several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by daughter, Patricia “Patsy” Musolino; sisters, Hilda, Winifred, Helen, Mary, Rita and Margaret; brothers, Harry, John, Malcolm and Robert. Arrangements are under the direction of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, (477-5601), where visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 28 from 6-8 PM and Wednesday, July 29 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 30 at 10 AM in St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, with Fr. Rob Arsenault officiating. A reception will follow the service in the church hall. Interment will be in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Lower Sackville. In lieu of flowers, donations in Theresa’s memory may be made to the Diabetes Association.
