Obituary of Marie Hallett

HALLETT, Marie Sadie — 85, Halifax, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 16, 2009 in Glades Lodge. Born in Terence Bay, she was a daughter of the late James and Rebecca (Jollimore) Walker. Marie worked as a waitress in the 1950's at Diane Sweets. She enjoyed bingo and listening to country music. Marie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be terribly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by son Gary (Deborah), Halifax; 4 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Joey Walker, Terence Bay; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband Harold; brothers Clem, Harvey and Lawrence; sisters, Millie Vernon and Annie Mercer. Arrangements are under the care and direction of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield (477-5601) where visitation will be held on Sunday, July 19 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. A service of remembrance will be held on Tuesday, July 21 at 2 P.M. in The Salvation Army Spryfield Community Church, 328 Herring Cove Road. Donations in Marie's memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Burn Treatment Society or the Nova Scotia Cancer Society.
