Obituary of Florence "Tawny" Lloyd
LLOYD (Mosher), Florence Angeline “Tawny” – 79, Halifax, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2009 after a long courageous battle with cancer. Formerly of Chester Basin, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Ella (McInnis) Mosher. She was a loving wife and mother and would go out of her way to do anything for her family. Throughout her illness she showed tremendous strength and courage and kept her humor. She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening. She will be sadly missed by Arthur, her beloved and devoted husband of 57 years; son, Wayne (Julie), Calgary; daughter, Sabrina, Halifax; grandson, Cody, Calgary; sisters, Violet and Stella; brothers, Murray (Vivian), Carl (Beatrice), Robert (Carolyn); many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Jeanette. Special thanks for the exceptional care provided by Dr. Trager and Nancy, Dr. Rayson, Dr. Rheaume and staff at the Nova Scotia Cancer Center, VON’s and staff at the VG Palliative Care. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield (477-5601), where visitation will be held on Sunday, May 10 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 11 at 2:00 p.m. in Calvary United Baptist Church, 91 Thornhill Dr., Halifax, followed by a reception in the church hall. Interment will take place in Chester Basin at a later date. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation or to a charity of one’s choice.
