Obituary of Annie Manuel

MANUEL, Annie Rita - 84, of Spryfield, passed away April 11, 2009, at home. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Archibald and Emma Slaunwhite. Rita will be remembered for her busy nature, her love of bingo and cards. She could be found either on a bus tour or trips to the city. She is survived by sons, Wayne (Sandra) Manuel, Terence Bay; Leo (Brenda) Manuel, Terence Bay; daughters, Genesta-Marie (Robert) Johnson, Terence Bay; Beverlee (John) Philippe, Cole Harbour; Nancy (Vince), Spryfield. Annie will also be sadly missed by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Annie was predeceased by her husband, Leo and by brothers, Irvin, Obe, Honey and sisters, Ella-May, Matilda, Nora and great-grandson, Nick. The family has requested a private visitation, with a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 15, in Our Lady Star of the Sea, Terence Bay, followed by burial in the church cemetery. Special thanks to Dr. Harris Crooks, Paul Rhindress, Home Care Coordinator and the home care workers who cared for mom daily. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to J.A. Walker Funeral Home, Spryfield, 149 Herring Cove Rd. Donations can be made to Our Lady Star of the Sea Cemetery.
