Obituary of John MacDonald

MacDONALD, John Alexander - 78, Halifax, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2009, in Arborstone Enhanced Care. Born in New Glasgow, he was the son of the late Norman and Gladys MacDonald. John will be lovingly remembered by sons, Rodney (Delores), Evert (Bonnie), Murray (Sandra); daughters, Darlene MacDonald (Ronnie Hayden), Brenda (Gary) Spears, Debbie MacDonald, Christine (Jimmie) Fleet, Peggy Myra, Florence (Russell) Robinson, Delores (Ken) Devison, Nancy (Larry) Ford; 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary (Slaunwhite). Arrangements are under the direction of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. 149 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield (477-5601), where visitation will be held Tuesday, January 27 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on January 28 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville. Donations in John's memory may be made to the IWK Health Centre Foundation.
