Obituary of Paul DesChamps

DesChamps, Paul Alden … 71, of Portuguese Cove (HRM), passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 3rd, 2009 at Victoria General Hospital. Formerly of Shelburne, he was the son of the late Madeline (Maggie) Labrador DesChamps. In 1997, with 25+ years of service, he retired from Honeywell Limited. Previously, he had driven long haul truck for CN, worked on construction of the EXPO’67 site in Montreal and served with the Canadian Armed Forces. He enjoyed classical music, his garden and walks at York Redoubt with the dogs. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 24 years, Rosemary (grey); children … Marcel (Lynn), Terrence Bay; Larry (Cathy), Dartmouth; Deborah, Toronto; Stephen (Betsy), Chilliwack, BC; Sheila (Richard) Hartley-Gallion, Shelburne; and Peter, BC.. Grandchildren … Christopher , Adam, Kaleigh, Aara, Leslie, Ryan and Shawn. Several nieces and nephews, Sisters … Thelma (Richard) McIntosh, Shelburne; Madelyn (Danny) Ellis, (Calgary); Gail (Matthews), Shelburne; brother Edward (Georgia), (Shelburne). His puppies … Dax and Kelly. A sincere thank you to the nurses and staff of 5A at the Victoria General Hospital for their friendship, loving care and support. Arrangements are under the direction of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield (477-5601). By request there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 9th 2009 at 10:00am from the funeral home chapel.
