Obituary of Sophie Gobbo

GOBBO, Sophie Maria … 80, Halifax, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2008 at the QEII, VG site. Born in Lucerne, Switzerland, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Charmaine (Leaman) Wuest. Sophie will be lovingly remembered as a great mother and hard worker, who enjoyed nature, gardening and cooking. She is survived by son Ivan; daughter Monica, both of Halifax; brothers Joseph and Alfred; sister Betley, all of Switzerland. She was predeceased by husband Gelindo and brothers Franz and Uli. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the VG palliative care unit for their compassion and support and for making Sophie’s last days comfortable. Arrangements are under the care and direction of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield (477-5601). By request, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
