Obituary of Lorraine Saunders

SAUNDERS, Lorraine Brenda - 90, Halifax, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 10, 2008, in Melville Lodge. Born in Indian Harbour, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Anne (Wells) Richardson. Lorraine will be lovingly remembered as a wonderful mother who enjoyed spending time with her family and tending to her flower garden. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She will be sadly missed and never forgotten by her family and friends. She is survived by sons Roger (Sheila) and Russell, of Halifax; daughters Marsha Saunders, Florence (Terry) Rhodenizer, Collette (Ian) Colford, all of Halifax and Yvonne (Wayne) Clark, Boutliers Point; grandchildren Stephen Rhodenizer, Raymond Saunders, Jason Clark, Tonya-Anne Clark; great-grandchildren Charlee Saunders and Angela Wells; several nieces and nephews. Lorraine was predeceased by her husband Bernard; son Harris Johnson; daughter Elaine Saunders; brothers Clive Richardson, Clement Richardson, Maurice Richardson; sisters Irene Melvin and Cora Birch; grandson Scott Saunders; granddaughter Loretta Lynn Saunders. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Melville Lodge for their compassionate care and support given to Lorraine during her time with them. Arrangements are under the direction of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield (477-5601) where visitation will be held on Monday, October 13 from 6-8 pm. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 14 from the funeral home chapel at 11 am, Rev. Diana Brett-Frye as celebrant. Interment to follow in Fairview Lawn Cemetery.
