Obituary of Donald Hannam

HANNAM, Donald Arthur: 68, Halifax, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at Glades Lodge Enhanced Care, Halifax, NS. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Anthony and Florence (Trider) Hannam. In his youth, Donnie had worked as a laborer with various construction projects. He then became a master carpet cleaner with ServiceMaster. He loved to swim and fish, and always enjoyed a good game of pool or crib. He will be remembered by his brothers, Tony (Lynn), Halifax, Gerry (Judy), PEI, and Peter, Halifax, his sisters, Rose Paavola (Darrell), Toronto, and Gloria LaPierre, Toronto, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Lillian Hill and Mary Fisher, brothers, Paul and Jimmy, as his beloved canine companion, Lady. By request, cremation has taken place under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield, NS (477.5601). There will be no visitation or funeral service, however family and friends are welcome to attend a graveside committal service on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at 1 PM at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Halifax, NS, with Rev. Russell Saulnier as clergy. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in memory of Donnie may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
