Obituary of Arthur "Bear" Blois
BLOIS, Arthur John: 60, Dartmouth, passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, August 17, 2008. Born in Halifax he was the son of the late Arthur Ernest and Annie Jane (Spencer) Blois. Art had attended John W. MacLeod School and graduated from BC Silver High School. He then went on to Halifax Vocational School where he studied plumbing. Art, affectionately known as “Bear”, enjoyed fishing, but his passion was for his camp in Mooseland, which he and his family members had built. Retiring in December of 2007, Art had been a dedicated employee of Canada Post, where he had worked for 33 years. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Fairview Branch. Art is survived by his daughters, Nadine Blois and Crystal Forsyth (Bruce), and their mother, Frances (MacKenzie) Blois, all of Spryfield, his companion, Donna MacDonald and her sons, Brian and Christopher Flowers, his sisters, Margaret Bobbitt (Ward), Blockhouse, NS and Linda Rolls (Randy), Spryfield, his three granddaughters, Allissa, Jennifer, and Emma, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his uncle, Sid Spencer.
Resting at J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield, Ns (477.5601), where visitation will be held on Tuesday from 7-9 PM and Wednesday from 1-3 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at 11 AM from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Patricia Malin as clergy. Interment will take place in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Lower Sackville, NS. The family would appreciate remembrances in memory of Art to the charity of one’s choice.
