Obituary of Colin Carter
CARTER, Colin Joseph – It is with great sadness that we the family announce the untimely death of Colin Joseph Carter of Halifax, on Monday, July 14, 2008. Born October 27, 1954, he was a son of the late Patrick and Eileen (Casey) Carter.
Colin was an active member of Local 56 – Plumbing and Pipefitting for many years, most recently working out of Fort McMurray, Alberta. Colin was known to be a craftsman and “jack of all trades”, who took great pride in his work. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed the outdoor life and respected nature and its inhabitants- it was never “the catch of the day”, but rather the sport that gave him great pleasure. Colin leaves behind his loving and caring daughter, Meagan and grandson, Austin, both of whom put the sparkle in his eye, as well as his life-long friend, Donna. Colin is also survived by his sisters, Margaret (Frank) Eller, Ontario, Carol (Al) Smith, Ontario, Stella (Murray) Hahn, Stewiacke, Janet (Darrell) Power, Herring Cove, his brothers, Robert, Ontario, Francis (Andrea), Ontario, James (Patty), Ontario, Kenneth (Donna), Harrietsfield, and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Paul. Colin will be missed by all who knew him for his steadfast friendship, generosity, and sense of humour.
