Obituary of Walter Betts

BETTS, Walter George … 80, Halifax, passed away peacefully in Arborstone Enhanced Care on June 1, 2008. He was a son of the late Milford and Muriel (Beck) Betts. Walter is survived by his loving wife Marion (Hurley) Betts, Halifax; sons Walter Jr., Armdale; Gary (Trudy), Lower Sackville; Jimmy (Sheila), Bedford; Barry (Kim), Bedford; Mike (Diane), Herring Cove; daughters Linda (George) Hartling, Spryfield; Karen (Gordie) Weeks, Spryfield; Judy Betts, Spryfield; Irene ( Donnie) MacDonald, Lower Sackville; daughter in law Lil Betts, Spryfield; brothers Eddie Betts, Toronto; David Betts, West Coast; sisters Gloria (Gil) Brown, New Brunswick; Cheryl (Rick) MacDonald, Spryfield; as well as several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Walter was predeceased by son Jeff Betts; brothers Ray, Arnold and Bernie Betts. Arrangements are under the direction of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. 149 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield (477.5601). By request there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 5 at 10 AM from the funeral home chapel. Interment to take place at a later date.
