Obituary of Gerry Blackburn
Blackburn, Gerry Paul: 29, Lower Prospect. It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce Gerry’s passing on May 28th, with his loving father, Gerald by his side. Born in Halifax, he is a son of Marion (Getson) Blackburn and the late Gerald Blackburn. Gerry had many friends, and was loved by many. He enjoyed four wheeling, boating, going to the camp, socializing, hunting and sport fishing. Gerry enjoyed many weekends at his camp with his many friends. There was always lots of food, drinks and company. He and his girlfriend, Jennifer, enjoyed the peace and quiet at the camp on crisp summer mornings. He also loved the sound of the rain on the roof while sleeping at the camp. Gerry was full of energy and could always make you laugh. Gerry has had the opportunity to see many places, Cuba, New England, Croatia, Paris, and Newfoundland. He had a beloved cat named Peaches, that he enjoyed playing laser tag with. She was just a kitten when he found her on his wharf and just couldn’t leave without her. Gerry’s kindness will be missed by many. When this tragedy occurred the whole community came together and the family would like to thank everyone who helped. Leaving behind to mourn is his mother, Marion, his girlfriend and love of his life, Jennifer Bonin, brother, Jody (Tresa) Blackburn, all of Lower Prospect, sister, Lorraine (Kevin) Tough, West Pennant, as well as two nieces, Abigail and Hannah Blackburn and nephew, Christopher (Roseann) Tough. Gerry passed away with his father, Gerald.
