Obituary of Kenneth Connor
CONNOR, Kenneth Gordon - 75, Halifax. "Mr. C" passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 27, 2008, in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax, with family by his side. Born in Halifax on April 25, 1933, he was the youngest son of the late Arthur and Fanny Connor. Ken was a former employee of the Halifax Regional School Board for 24 years, and had previously been an employee of Admiral. Ken had various hobbies which he loved. He coached Little League Baseball at Bayers Westwood, umpired baseball and softball leagues at the Halifax Commons. He was also involved with Bantam hockey at the Civic Arena. He thoroughly enjoyed watching his granddaughters play baseball and soccer. Throughout the years, Ken also enjoyed cards, darts, bowling, computer games, and all sports. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patricia (Murphy); son, Stephen (Catherine); daughter, Pamela; granddaughters, Nicole, Katelyn and Jocelyn, all of Halifax, as well as brother, Lloyd, Ontario, and sisters, Betty, New Minas, and Norma, New Jersey. He was predeceased by his sisters, Beatrice and Rose, and brothers, Alvin, Arthur and Victor. Cremation has taken place under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Rd., Spryfield (477-5601), where visitation will be held on Saturday from 12-2 p.m. The memorial service will follow visitation at 2:15 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Patricia Malin as officiating clergy. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
