Obituary of Douglas Burke

BURKE, Douglas Joseph "Dougie" - 69, Halifax, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2008, in the ICU, Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born on August 21, 1938, he was a son of the late Richard and Julie (Mamie) Aucoin. He is survived by sisters, Pauline Liebhardt and Sandra Casey, Halifax; brother, John Burke, Halifax; nephews Scott, Denver, Colo., and Frankie, Ottawa; niece April, Toronto. Dougie was predeceased by infant brother, Paul, and niece, Emma. Arrangements are under the direction of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Rd., Spryfield (477-5601). By request there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Until then have a toast to Dougie and share some of his great stories.
