Obituary of Olive Poole

Poole, Olive: 92 years, Lower Sackville, NS, wife of the late Reuben Poole, passed away peacefully on her birthday, Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 7 Centre, Northwood Enhanced Care, Halifax, NS. Born in Garnish, Newfoundland, she was the daughter of the late Morgan and Margaret (Grandy) Grandy. Olive was a woman of quiet wisdom who was satisfied with the simple things in life. Her family was what mattered most to her. Since Reuben’s death in 1992, she has lived in Nova Scotia with her daughter, Margaret and grandson, Aaron. She was a woman of great strength who never gave up. She is survived by son, Charles Poole (Barbara), Markham, Ontario, daughter, Margaret Poole, Lower Sackville, a very special niece, Brenda Ryan (Derek), brother, Charlie Grandy, Garnish, NF, sister, Lorraine Lawrence, Bedford, NS, four grandchildren, Aaron Francis, Bradley Poole, Lorraine Martin, and Richard Martin, two great-grandchildren, Brandon Poole and Justin Martin. Olive is also survived by her friend, Morgan, who was the love of her life. She was predeceased by her husband, Reuben Poole, and sisters, Jenny Dobbin, Esther Newport, Frances Hatch, and Lara Grandy. A special thank-you to Dr. Connidis at the Transitional Care Unit of the VG. Sincere thanks to the staff of 7 Centre at Northwood for their loving care- you are indeed a special group of people. Resting at J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield, NS (477.5601), where visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at 11 AM from the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Jim Anderson officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in Markham, Ontario.
