Obituary of Robert "Bob" Frederick Gough

GOUGH, Robert Frederick - 87, Halifax, passed away on March 31, 2008, in the VG Site, QEII. Born in Portland, Me., Robert was a son of the late John and Freda (Macumber) Gough. He was a veteran of the Second World War and was self-employed all his life. While in England during the Second World War, he married his sweetheart, Alice. Robert loved his family dearly, including his stepgrandfather, with whom he was raised. He loved to have visitors at his home during his lengthy illness, and was a current member of the Armdale Yacht Club. Robert is survived by his daughters, Diane (Garry) Newcombe, Belmont; Christine (Mike) Coolen, Halifax; son, David (Kathy) Gough, Halifax; grandchildren, Michael (Angela) Miller, Lesa (Clinton) McPhee, Jill Coolen (Matt Jolin), Tom Coolen (Lisa McGill), Robert (Kandas) Gough, Christopher Gough (Liane Bradbury); great-grandchildren, Brianna McPhee, Olivia Jolin, Gracie Gough. He was predeceased by his parents, his loving wife, Alice Sarah (Perrin) Gough; grandson, Sean Miller; and his stepgrandfather, Emil Pawlik. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., Spryfield (477-5601). There will be no visitation by family request. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 3, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Patricia Malin officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Lawn Cemetery.
