Obituary of J. Raymond Saulnier

SAULNIER, J. Raymond - 79, Halifax, passed away March 23, 2008 in Glades Lodge, Halifax. Born in Meteghan, Raymond was a son of the late Lionel and Edith (Moulaison) Saulnier. He will be missed by his family. He was a barber for 42 years in Halifax. He loved fishing, bowling, the outdoors walking his dog, and he also coached hockey. He is survived by his loving wife, Gloria (Snow) Saulnier; daughters, Donna Saulnier (Jim Messenger), Halifax; Jeanine Thibodeau (Bob), Williamswood; Theresa Ransome (Chris), Port Dover, Ont.; sons, Brian (Anne), Halifax; Kevin (Adele), Portuguese Cove; Brent, Halifax; brother, Anthony (Margaret), Digby; step-children, Dan Theriault (Helen Jones), Edmonton, Alta.; Peter Theriault (Mary), Terence Bay; Paula MacAulay (David), Lower Sackville; 11 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife of 32 years, Jeanette Theriault; son, Nelson; sisters, Emma, Viola, Regina; brothers, Clifford, Charlie. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield (477-5601). There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held 12 noon Saturday, March 29 in St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church, Spryfield, Fr. Rob Arsenault officiating. An interment will be held in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Lower Sackville.
