Obituary of Michael Joseph Henneberry
Feb 15, 1941- Feb 5, 2018. It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Henneberry, age 76, with his family by his side. He was a loving husband, father, poppy and a friend to many. He lived his life in Spryfield, where he coached and played hockey and baseball. He worked for Canada Post for 30 years and was commonly called “Mike the mailman”. He loved spending time on Tancook Island with family and friends. He was always there to lend a helping hand. He has left a huge hole in our hearts and will be deeply missed!
Mike was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Matilda, brother Albert, sister Sarah, daughter Michelle, and toddler son Ricky. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Grace; daughter, Pam (Joey) Baker; sons, Craig (Wanda) and Shawn (Tracey); grandchildren, Rhonda (Michael) Stevens, Samantha (Kirk) Baker, Alyssa (Mathew), Tyler Hann, Tyler, Hayden, Alexis Grace; great grandchild Jay Stevens; sisters, Margaret, Elizabeth (Keith) Hearn, Madonna (Danny) Kunzli; brothers, Gordon (Wendy), Eric (Maggie), Junior (Louise), Pat (Judy), David “Dino”.
Cremation has taken place under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd, 149 Herring Cove Rd. where a visitation will be held on Thursday February 8th from 6-8pm. Funeral service will be held at Spryfield Legion on Friday February 9th at 4pm followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s society.
The family extends a special thanks to the staff of Melville lodge, and a heartfelt thank you to Tracey Hann.
