Obituary of Michael D. Gray
57, Sackville, passed away peacefully at home on July 24, 2017, with family by his side. Affectionately known at Mike, he worked for many years in the construction industry and was well liked and respected by all those who knew him. He was a family man with a fun-loving spirit and a quick whit that drew people in. Mike was an automotive enthusiast who could often be found at the garage or playing pool, at Dooley’s. He loved country music, Elvis and drinking a Bud Light or two. He had a soft spot for animals, but especially for his affectionate friend, Koko. He is survived by his mother, Bernice, his loving wife of 22 years, Linda, sons, Michael (Allison) and Scott (Katherine), and daughter, Kimberly (Justin), his grandchildren, Hayley, Nathan, Chandler, Vylet, Avery, Hayden, and Ashtyn, his brothers, John (Wanda), Kevin (Jean), Raymond (Pam), and sisters, Marjorie (Rick), Jerry (Brian), Judy (David), and Cathy (Ron), as well as many loving aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Gerald. The family wishes to thank all of the doctors and nurses on the 7th and 8th Floor of the QEII, EHS patient transfers who came to know us by name, and last but not least, the Palliative Care Team for your exceptional care and support.
By request, cremation has taken place under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., There will be no visitation. A service and celebration of Mike’s life will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 10:30 AM in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in memory of Mike to the charity of one’s choice.
