Obituary of Ruby J. Keating
67, Spryfield. With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved sister, Ruby on May 21, 2017 surrounded by her family. Born in Halifax, in 1949, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Mildred (Cox) Keating.
She enjoyed working at Stonehearst Bakery, had several childcare positions & volunteered at City Church Foodbank. She loved to sing, dance & socialize. Ruby could walk the socks off most people half her age. She will be dearly missed by her fur-babies, Cowboy and Blackie.
She is survived by her brothers, Bobby (Colleen), Williamswood and David (Cathy), Halifax; sisters, Mildred Clark and Susan (Doug) Langille, both of Halifax, Judy Keating, Glen Haven; several nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Besides her parents, Ruby was predeceased by her sister, Alberta Langille & 2 brothers in infancy.
The family wants to thank Ruby’s palliative care team, VON’s Paul & Lexi, Dr. Mike and extended family and friends for their loving support during her illness.
Ruby was taken much too soon, but has left many with memories and love which will last a life time.
