Obituary of Dorothy Lorraine Blackburn

Age 82, Lower Prospect, passed away suddenly on April 17, 2017 at home. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Marion (O’Dwyer) Mitchell. Dolly was the oldest child of the family. She is survived by daughter, Teena Beaton (Timothy) Lower Sackville; son, Myles "Dook" (Linda), Lower Prospect; brothers, Jack, Donnie, Barry, Robert "Bob", Stanley Sr.; step brother, Bob; sisters, Shirley, Jeannie, Elaine, Joanne; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and good friend George Fisher. She was predeceased by husband Harry Sr.; son, Harry Jr.; daughters, Carolyn and Susan; brothers, Allen, Keith and Ronnie; sister, Beatrice and granddaughter Shauna. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. 149 Herring Cove Rd. where visitation will be Monday April 24 from 12-2 p.m. followed by a Service of Remembrance at 2 p.m. from the chapel. Interment to take place at a later date.
