Obituary of Gordon W. Relf
Relf, Rev. Gordon William: 71, Dartmouth, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2017 at the VG Site, QEII, Halifax, NS. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Frederick and Margaret (Woodroffe) Relf. Gordon was an Associate Priest and a life long member of Emmanuel Anglican Church, and as a child, he served the Altar and was in Junior Choir. He had several jobs throughout his life dealing with people, sometimes under stressful circumstance, which was a solid background for his ministries as a Priest, his true calling. He served several times as Warden, Chairman of the Scouting Group Committee, and Sunday School Coordinator. He was an avid golfer, and in his last years, he fulfilled his dream of buying a motorcycle. Gordon is survived by his loving wife, Susan, sons, Craig (Wendy), Kitchener, ON, and Paul (Kristy), Toronto, ON, his brother, Kenneth, Halifax, his treasured grandchildren, Tyler, Nicole, Amy and Sean, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth.
In keeping with Gordon’s wishes, cremation has taken place under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., Spryfield, NS. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 6-8 PM at Emmanuel Anglican Church, 322 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield,. A Service of Remembrance will be celebrated on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 1PM from Emmanuel Anglican Church, with a reception to follow in the church hall. Interment will take place at a later date in Emmanuel Anglican Church Cemetery.
