Obituary of Betty E. Marchant

91, Halifax, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017. Born in Eastbourne, England in 1925, Betty was a school teacher in England before her marriage. She later taught mentally handicapped children, with whom she had a special rapport, in both Ottawa and Halifax. Betty was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Bill; son, Mark (Terry) of Berwick and their children, Andre, Danielle and Warren (Candy); great granddaughter, Haley; daughter, Sarah (Brian Kozaczuk) of Vancouver, BC, and their children, Calvin and Luna. Arrangements are under the direction of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, where visitation will be held on Friday, February 24 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. In keeping with Betty’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Betty would never pass a homeless person without making a donation. It would please her to know that her friends would continue this practice in her memory.
