Obituary of Claire Emily Whittle
WHITTLE, Claire E. (Molloy)
Age 76 of Halifax, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Claire (Molloy) Whittle, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother on December 21st, 2024. Born on October 6, 1948, in Harbour Breton, Newfoundland, she was the daughter of the late James and Margaret (Power) Molloy.
Claire’s early years were spent in Newfoundland. At the age of 18, she moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia with the love of her life, Thomas Whittle. Together, they built a loving home and family. Claire lived a life defined by strength. Known for her no-nonsense attitude, she never shielded away from telling it “like it is”. Her honesty and resilience will never be forgotten. Claire's favorite pastimes included watching Dr. Pol, scratching scratch tickets, knitting, and she was seldom seen without a cup of tea in her hand.
Claire leaves behind her three daughters, Helena, Judy, and Deanie; cherished son-in-law, Allan; granddaughters, Caitlyn (Alain), Erin (Chris), Ashley (Brad), Courtney (Shaun), Faith, Chloe, and Kelsie; great-grandsons, Beau and Hudson; siblings, Judy, Florence, Raymond, John, Violet, Wayne, and Margie; many nieces and nephews including special nephew Tommy. Claire was predeceased by her lifelong partner, Thomas Whittle; sisters, Josephine Roberts, Jackie Molloy, and Helena McCarthy; brother, Gerry Molloy.
She will be forever missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. We find comfort knowing she is now reunited with her beloved Tommy, who she has missed dearly.
In keeping with Claire's wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. To leave online condolences please visit the tribute page.
