Obituary of Evelyn Margaret Brewer

Age 90, Halifax, passed away peacefully on February, 9 ,2017 in Northwood Centre. Born in Carbonear, NL, on May 12, 1926 , she was a daughter of the late John and Roseanna (Kehough) Dwyer. Evelyn was a stay-at-home mom until the age of 55 when she joyfully went to work at Fairview Villa for 10 years. Mom was a kind, gentle and humble person who had a great sense of humor. Always ready and willing to serve others with a warm heart. Evelyn is survived by daughters, Nancy (Terry), Sheila (Cyril), Debbie (David), June (John); daughter-in-law, Sandra; grandchildren, Scott (whom she lovingly raised as her own son), Mark, Chris, Julie, Kyle, Colin, Emily, Andrew, Scott, Shawn; seven great grandchildren; brother, William (Bill), Carbonear, NL.; sisters, Mary Romo, Halifax; Genevieve Bonang, Dartmouth; Margaret Rose Mayer, Jefferson, Wisconsin. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Murray of 54 years and her son Murray junior "Boze"; brothers, John, Jim, and Kevin; sisters, Kathleen, Catherine, Susannah, Ellen and Elizabeth. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. (477-5601). No visitation as per her wishes. A funeral mass will take place on Thursday February16, at 10 a.m. from St. John The Baptist Church Purcell's Cove Road with Father Raymond Odumuko as celebrant. Interment to take place at a later date. A special thank you to the nurses and staff at Northwood Centre 9C for all the wonderful loving care she received during her stay at the home.
