Obituary of David A. Bayers
BAYERS, David Alfred: Age 75 of Halifax, passed away peacefully, January 31, 2017, with his wife and family by his side. He was born on October 24, 1941 in Halifax and was the son of the late Jack and Ellen Bayers (Johnson). David had a long career as an auto body mechanic. He had a passion for cars and enjoyed the rewards of repairing a vehicle to its original state. After finally retiring at age 68, he moved on to a less physical job at Casino NS. This is where his personality really shined. He loved joking and bringing smiles to the faces of others. David was a hard worker all of his life. Quick to lend a hand and rarely relaxed. He adored Vangie and loved his children and grand children along with the rest of his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Evangeline "Vangie" (Bernadas) Bayers, daughters Lisa(Bruce) Peveril, and Denise (Dan) MacKay, son Blair, grandchildren, Morgan(Christopher) Peterson and Chase MacKay, brother, Cyril (Betty), and sisters, Judy Cameron, Joan Wallace and Doris (Bill Eller). Predeceased by brothers, Freddie and Bobby.
Cremation has taken place and the funeral service will take place on Monday, February 6, 2017 at 11 AM in St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, where a reception will follow.
