Obituary of Irene Isabella Anderson
ANDERSON, Irene Isabella- Age 86 of Eastern Passage, it is with great sadness we announce Irene Anderson passed away peacefully at Melville Gardens on September 5, 2024. Born in Scotland, she was the daughter of the late Edward Wyllie Christie and Helen Rennie.
Irene moved from Scotland for the last time in the mid-1980s but maintained contact with friends and family and was proud of her Scottish heritage.
She loved travelling and thought nothing of getting on a plane to fly from Nova Scotia to Cornwall, England for a long weekend to visit family. She also enjoyed taking road trips with her late partner, Aubrey, including trips to the Annapolis Valley eagle fields to view the eagles through her binoculars.
Irene enjoyed a variety of different types of music including Rod Stewart, Michael Jackson, country music, and traditional Scottish music. Irene was an animal lover and had many cats throughout her life and enjoyed visits with her grand dogs. She was fond of a good lobster dinner, Lindor Chocolates, and chocolate oranges.
Irene was adventurous and enjoyed whale-watching, fishing, going to the swimming pool (even if she couldn’t swim). She enjoyed attending auctions, going shopping, and social activities over the years like playing a game of darts or badminton. She loved flowers and her garden at the house in Eastern Passage.
Irene is survived by her daughters, Heather (Casey) Burns and Patti (Gino) MacAulay; stepsons, David Davis (Debby) and Brian (Christa); grandchildren, Taylor (Adam) MacAulay and Sara MacAulay; step-grandchildren, Matthew Davis, Spencer Davis, Olivia McDonald-Davis, and Chelsa (Brandon) MacLean; great-grandchildren Paisley Davis, Harvey MacLean, and Briar MacLean. She was predeceased by her husband, Sam Anderson in 1969; partner, Aubrey Davis in 2023.
