Dear Honey and MacFarland family, I was so very sorry to read of Bob’s passing. I got to know Bob when he was a Tartan Team volunteer and I was coordinator of the program. Bob was a true gentleman and had lead such an interesting life. I enjoyed our chats when he would drop in the office. He was immensely proud of his Cape Breton roots and shared with me some of his family’s Chéticamp history, occasionally speaking to me in French. One thing was very evident, and that was the pride he had in his family, and his love for Honey. I remember him telling me the story of how they met. I know that he will be dearly missed. May you find comfort in your special memories. Extending sincere condolences to you all.

I was sorry to see that Bob passed away. Our sympathies to Honey and the family. I attended KCS with Bob and had the good fortune to play inside Bob on the 3/4 line of the rugby team. I got the ball in Bob's hands as quickly as I could , not only avoid tacklers, but with the realistic probability that Bob would score, with a group of bruised, and battered would-be tacklers in his wake. He was a tremendous football player. We kept in touch through all the years, a lot of the time, through our mutual friend Fred Lordly,and through many KCS reunions. Bob did many things all of which demonstrated what a great citizen he was. His ilk are rare. Gord and Marg Tidman.

We had the pleasure of being Bob and Honey’s across the street neighbours on Laurentide Drive for seven years. We were first time home owners and Bob and Honey were very kind and welcoming to us. We were so excited for our first Halloween in our new home and we’re thankful when Bob and Honey’s grandchildren came over:. They were our only trick or treaters that night! Bob was always happy and to us it seemed like he never had a bad day. We are so very sorry to hear of his passing. Our deepest sympathies go out to Honey and her family. Trish and Larry Belliveau
