Obituary of Delina Madeline Pennell
Delina "Del" Madeline Pennell (Campbell) Kilbride)) of Halifax passed away on February 12, 2024. Born in West Chester, NS, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Thelma (Weatherbee) Campbell. She worked at Robert Simpsons for 16 years, and 10 years at the HMC Dockyards, retiring in 1988. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilt making, baking, and playing cards.
She leaves to mourn her passing, son, Fred Campbell, Enfield; stepson, Harvey (Laura) Pennell, Moncton NB; grandson, James Kilbride, Halifax; step-grandsons, Jordan, Taylor Pennell, Moncton NB; brothers, Rev. George (Dorson) Campbell, Dartmouth, Bobby and John Campbell, Halifax; several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends; card playing buddies, Rosie, Marie, Barb, Debra, and Cecelia; good friends, Carol Burke, Halifax, Gerald Moulton, Halifax, Tom Holden, River Phillip, and Ken on Rycroft, Timberlea, Darleen Lantz, Margarets Bay, special friends, Tommy Burke, Halifax, Donna and Gerald Wells, Halifax, Debby Burkes, Halifax; special cousin, Gloria MacDonald, River Phillip.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Lionel Kilbride, second husband, Harry Pennell, son, Ken Killbride; three brothers, Scott, Tom, Harold Sr. (Sonny) Campbell; sisters, Myria (Arnold Jollimore), West Pennet, Susanne Conner, Tantallon.
Cremation and arrangements have been entrusted to J Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. By request, there will be no visitation or memorial service. A graveside service will be held at W. Athol cemetery. Donations may be made in Del’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of one's choice.
