Obituary of Wayne Bethune

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Whynne “Wayne”  Francis Bethune of Halifax.

He had many careers over his lifetime including being a Mechanic for many years. Standard Pavement and his first true love driving tow truck for Ace Towing.

Wayne had a love for Big Rig trucks and classic cars. He was always at peace near water and loved watching ships come into “his harbour” and boating with daughter Shirley (Jason).

Wayne had many close friends he loved hanging out with over the years and loved his crew at Joe Howe Manor. He was most generous and always gave a helping hand when needed.

Wayne is survived by daughters, Shirley Tobin (Jason); Sherri (Marc); grandchildren, Tristan Hatch, Jordan Hatch, and Ryan; special sisters, Tena and Marge (Harry), and his beloved “Brat Cat” Oscar.

He was predeceased by his mother, Rhoda Bethune; father, Harold Martin; and his sister, Shirley Bethune.

He will be forever loved and missed.

Visitation will be held 4-6 p.m. Thursday, September 28, 2023 in the J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, Nova Scotia.
