Age 83, of Dartmouth died peacefully in the morning on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Oakwood Terrace in Dartmouth. She was born on December 26, 1939 in New Waterford, Cape Breton, NS.

She was predeceased by her parents, Alexander and Mary Beatrice (Vatcher) MacPherson, her husband, Douglas MacNeil, and her brothers, Johnson and Earle.

Elaine is survived by her sisters, Norma (Larry) Hunt, of Sydney and their children, Kelly and Liam; Paula MacPherson, New Waterford; sister-in-law, Brenda MacPherson, Brantford, Ontario. She loved and was very proud of her daughters, Kathryn (Jamie) Riley and Michelle (Craig) Martin, and her beloved grandchildren, Emily and Natalie.

Her career with the Royal Bank spanned decades before retiring and moving to Dartmouth to be closer to "her girls". She loved cooking for her family and going out for brunch with her friends.

Thank you to Mom's second family at Oakwood Terrace for the absolutely amazing care.  They went above and beyond to make her feel at home and loved from the day she arrived until the day she passed. We are eternally grateful for your love and support; we are blessed to have had you with us during this journey. 

A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, September 29, 2023 in the J. Albert Walker Funeral Home Chapel, 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax.

A private family interment will be at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville, NS
