Obituary of Donald Lewis Archibald

ARCHIBALD, Captain Donald “Don” Lewis- Age 76 of Halifax:

It is with profound sadness we, the family, announce his passing unexpectedly on August 4^th, 2023, at the QEII Halifax Infirmary Site, Halifax, N.S.

Born in Halifax, Don was the eldest son of the late Donald and Alice (White) Archibald.  Don is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Doreen (Newman) Archibald; stepdaughter, Krystal (Brent) Murphy; step-granddaughter, Ashley (Joe) Chaisson all of Halifax; brother, Graham (Kathy) Archibald, Conquerall Bank; many nieces and nephews.

Don was predeceased by his granddaughter, Laura Ann Newman; brother, Brian Archibald; stepson, Leonard Newman.

Don was a proud and accomplished Master Mariner who sailed the seven seas for over 40 years, retiring in 2011 and ending his career with OceanEx.

Cremation and arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, N.S.  In keeping with Don's wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Emmanuel Anglican Church, 322 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, reception to follow.
