Obituary of William Ernest Slade
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our Father William Ernest Slade 91, of Halifax. He passed away peacefully at home with his family. He was born on October 15, 1931, in Musquodoboit Harbor.
He was a very Loving Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather.
He served in the Canadian Armed Forces for a short time. Worked most of his life doing custodial work and with the Bill Lynch Fair. He was a very active member of the Spryfield Lions Club, very active in Chebucto Minor Hockey over the years. Dad was a die-hard Toronto Maple Leafs fan, and a Toronto Blue Jays fan as well. He enjoyed playing cribbage, cards, and bingo, he always loved having family gatherings.
He is preceded by both his parents Henry and Greta (Murphy) Slade, his Sisters Marjorie (Alfred), Betty, Stepsister Myra, a brother Charles (Sadie) a stepbrother Cyril (Joan), and Anthony. He is survived by his Loving children Debra, Heather, Chrissy (Mark), Wendy (Andre), Paula, Buddy (Blanche), Mark (Allyson). He was a very proud Grandfather to 11 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by his very special nieces and nephew, Tom, Marie, and Gail as well as several more.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, from 6 p.m. to 8 pm at J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, Spryfield. Service will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at 11:00 am at J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, followed by a reception and a private family burial ceremony.
