To that we would like to add that our hearts are broken. She is already greatly missed and will continue to be so. I told Don that I can’t quite believe I won’t receive another text from her or email with attached photos.

She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and was always interested in and participated in our lives. Whether it was a Christmas concert, dance recital, Highland games, birthdays or just a Sunday BBQ, she wouldn't miss it.

Her creativity and artistic flair permeated every aspect of her life.  A professional potter for many years, she started batiking in the 70’s then went to George Brown College in the 1980's for a Pottery degree. When she stopped her pottery wheel for good, she started rug hooking and got back into painting. She also loved cooking and gardening and was always experimenting with both.

Many have already reached out to us and the word that keeps coming up is “grateful”. Grateful for her friendship, Grateful for her support, her loyalty, kindness and her generosity of spirit. Her home was always open and she was happy to have visitors for cocktail hour or for a week…. And the parties!!! Great parties! In the early days on the Mira River and later in St. Ann's with her husband Hugh Gauntlett. Incredible food, drink, music and conversation. She loved to throw a party and bring everyone together.

We would have wanted more time with her but we too are grateful. Grateful for the time we had with her.

"Good night and joy be to you all"
