Obituary of Lillian Patricia Veith

VEITH,   Lillian Patricia (Snow), age 83, Spryfield,  passed peacefully at home, with family at her side, to the hands of our Lord on October 28, 2022.  She was the daughter of the Late Alfred and Irene Snow (Bowman) .
Mom is survived by daughter Cindy, and sons Edward (Kim), Robert (Annette),  and Arthur (Buzzy).   She was a second mother and friend to Phyllis Druhan and Helen Ginn.  She is predeceased by her husband, Edward, daughter “Boopsie” (Lillian) Gilkie (Timmy) and son Alfie.
With (6)  children she received (9) grandchildren :  Timmy, Amanda, Robert, Christian, Brandi, Nick, Michael, Amanda, and Adam. Plus (21) great grandchildren and (5) great-great grandchildren.  She came from a family of (13) and is survived by her loving sister’s Donna and “Pinkie” (Helen) and brother’s Alfred, Henry and Paul, and many, many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by sisters and brothers -  Sandra, Bruce, Alfreda, Marilyn (Sis), Heather, John and Gloria.
Mom’s work history was steady from the early days at 40 Fathoms Fisheries, Edwards Fine Foods, Trizec Equities and then Nova Cleaners.  We were proud that Mon returned to school in her 50’s to finish high school and receive a business diploma.  She then worked several seasons in the office of Royal Flush Services. 
Mom was the family baker – every birthday cake was homemade from scratch and the hundreds of apple pies and banana breads that she made and packaged with love and delivered throughout the family at Christmas.
Her favorite times were with the grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Many adventure weeks to camping at Upper Clements Park and almost every weekend the calls for a “sleepover at Nanny’s house”. 
Mom always had time available for family.  She enjoyed weekends at the family hunting camp to take advantage of “no cooking or cleaning” because the men were in charge.  Mom enjoyed relaxing at Dickie and Annette’s cottage, visiting with Eddie and Kim at the trailer, and her exciting trip to Alberta with Dad and Dickie to meet and bring home Artie and Buzzy to Halifax.
Mom and Cindy were the best of friends, with a love that cannot be described in words, and were non-stop on the road together heading wherever they wanted to go.  She enjoyed a seafood meal from all the restaurants in their travels.   Mom, Cindy and Helen were seen frequently together at the Halifax Forum BINGO – regardless of the weather.
Arrangements under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, 149 Herring Cove Rd. Where visitation will be held Wednesday November 2 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Service will be held at Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday 10:30 a.m. followed by reception. Then burial to take place in Fairview Lawn Cemetery, Halifax.  Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
